About PCJ Books
Petit Cheval Jaune (“Little Yellow Horse”) was founded to share joyful, inclusive, and beautifully illustrated stories with young readers and their families. Guided by imagination, kindness, and a love of nature, PCJ Books celebrates friendship and the simple moments that bring people together.
As an independent children’s publisher, PCJ Books creates heartfelt picture books families enjoy returning to. The debut title, Tea Time for Leo, was published in November 2025, with more adventures featuring Leo and his friends currently in development.
About Elisabeth Black Vestal
Elisabeth Black Vestal is the founder of Petit Cheval Jaune and the author and illustrator of Tea Time for Leo. With a background in design, storytelling, and a lifelong love of horses, she brings warmth, creativity, and gentle humor to every book she creates.
Her inspiration comes from her own horse, Leo the Palomino, whose calm presence and charming personality have touched the hearts of many. Elisabeth’s stories honor everyday connections — time under a leafy tree, shared laughter, and the magic of feeling seen and cared for.
She envisions PCJ Books as a home for stories rooted in inclusivity, friendship, and harmony with the natural world — a growing library of children’s titles that help families feel close, inspired, and joyful.
